THE MISSION
The Munroe-Pinder Leadership Award intends to preserve the memory of Drs. Munroe and Pinder, and their commitment to education, civic duty and achievement through providing annual monetary assistance to well-deserving students.
The Munroe/Pinder Award is a merit-based scholarship that identifies 12th grade and freshman undergraduate students who demonstrate inspirational, innovative, and initiative-driven leadership impacting their academic, work, or community environments.
HISTORY
2014
Following the passing of Dr. Myles Munroe and Dr. Richard Pinder in 2014, Apostle Rick Dean, founder and lead pastor of Family of Faith Ministries International (FOFMI) – together with FOMI’s Board of Directors, sought to find a way tto memorialize these two great men.
So, to honor the two men – who were known for their excellent achievements, the decision was made to establish an award.
2015
In 2015, Khes Adderley – a Queen’s College alumnus, was the first award recipient
She went on the graduate Summa Cum Laude from Rutgers University in New Jersey with degrees in both Economics and Public Health.
2017
Simone Sturrup was selected as the second reward recipient in 2017. She is currently enrolled in Iona College where she majors in Psychology.
2018
Maverick Moxey, a graduate Saint Augustine’s College High School was presented the award October 2018. He is enrolled in Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas.
2019
The Munroe-Pinder Scholarship Trust was formed in January 2019 to ensure the future development of the vision.
Robynn Barnett became the 4th award recipient.
2020
February 2020 was the launch of the Munroe Pinder Award website which allows for the submission of online applications.
Erin Turner was announced as the 5th award recipient.
2021
The 2021 Munroe-Pinder Scholarship Trust recipients were Donovan Butler, Zoe Turner and LLanzita Chea.
2022
The 2022 Munroe-Pinder Scholarship Trust recipients were Olga Roussos, Christopher Knowles and T’Ron Strapp.
